ArmA Tactics' Operation No Deal campaign has players take control of a four-man team of elite U.S. Special Forces operatives.
A special guided artillery system has been stolen by terrorists while en-route to a local military base. The operatives must track down its location and retrieve the weapon before it can be used against American interests.
Summary[]
« | Escorting a convoy carrying a weapon system inside friendly territory sounded great. It's nice when for once there's more sightseeing and less fighting. The only thing that sucks about moments like these is... It never takes long before things go really, really wrong. Ellis

The convoy containing the mortar guidance system begins to cross the Wassara Bridge when halfway through, the bridge "workers" suddenly pull out weapons and fire upon the trucks. Caught completely off-guard, Salazar's team are separated in the chaos whilst the convoy's defenders are routed.
Luckily, the four operators were still alive and had suffered only minor injuries. The remaining soldiers were wounded but accounted for - except for one named Private Sommers.
They regrouped and fought off the disguised terrorists, hoping to make their way towards the truck while attempting to find the missing Private. Unfortunately, they were already too late; Sommers had been killed in the attack and the guidance system was nowhere to be found.
As if the situation couldn't get any worse, the terrorists demanded to the local government that they release all of the fighters that had been imprisoned by them thus far. If their demands were not met, then they intended to destroy the Kheran Dam with the guided mortars - the subsequent flooding would kill thousands and cripple the nation's stability. With Salazar's team already in the area, they were the only ones who could respond in time. In order to stop them, they would have to destroy a radio beacon being used by the terrorists as a signal for the mortar teams. If this beacon was destroyed, they would be able to put a stop to the terrorists' plans.
The team made their way to the dam and sneaked through the facility's exterior. Thanks to the noise of the dam's machinery and water flowing, they could fire their weapons without attracting attention. However, if the dam's alarm was triggered by even one of the terrorists, they would be alerted and initiate the mortar strike. Salazar's team quietly made their way through the exterior's electrical station and arrived at the main entrance to the powerhouse.
However, they realised that the upper floors were too heavily protected, and it would be suicide to approach it in their current state. Ellis suggested shutting off the main power circuit to the facility; backup power would kick in to replace it, but the lull could serve as a useful distraction to draw terrorists away from the upper floors. The team agreed and they followed through with the plan to sabotage the generators.
The plan succeeds, triggering a warning klaxon and attracting several of the terrorists to investigate. With Salazar's men in position and ready to ambush the unsuspecting fighters, they swiftly eliminated them one by one. The path was now clear, and they hopped onto one of the elevators to arrive at the upper floors.
« | These last few meters will hurt a lot. Take good cover, use any grenades you have and don't get pinned down, guys. And Ian - you know how to disable that beacon - try not to get shot, OK? We'll cover you. Salazar

Unfortunately, the terrorists weren't as oblivious to the team's presence as they had initially thought and were anticipating their arrival. They ambushed Salazar's men just as they breached the top floor and pinning the four soldiers. In spite of their attempt, the team were nonetheless able to fight their way through the remaining terrorists, with the others providing covering fire for Ellis as he sprinted straight for the beacon. He managed to disable it and with its loss, the team could now extract from the facility.
The terrorists weren't about to just let them walk away, however. Realising their only threat to the government was effectively neutralised, the terrorists proceeded to shell the dam regardless even without the beacon's guidance. In the process, they had revealed their positions and headquarters informed the team that air support would be arriving shortly in the form of a drone.
« | Ellis: At least the dam is safe. Dodds: I wouldn't worry about the dam. I'd worry about US getting killed by our own frickin' mortar rounds! From one frying pan into another, the team tries to escape before they get caught in the crossfire

As for Salazar's team, all they needed to do now was evacuate from the dam while doing their best to avoid getting hit by a mortar. They fought through the remaining terrorists closing in onto their position and narrowly avoided several inbound shells. Finally, they reached their extraction point just as the drone arrived and bombarded the mortar batteries.
With the mortars silenced by the drone and the team in one piece, their mission was completed. Naturally, the government's troops would move in and take all the credit for the team's hard work.
However, the team also knew that it would only be a matter of time before the terrorists regrouped and strike once again. As always, Salazar's men would be ready to step in and stop them.
« | It may take months for them to recover from the blow they've been dealt. But they will recover, no doubt about it. Which brings me to the biggest advantage that a job like mine has... You never run out of work to do. Ellis' closing soliloquy

Timeline[]
Bridge To Hell[]
« | The American government has decided to supply a friendly country with a special mortar guided system to be used against terrorists operating from a nearby mountain range. Unfortunately, the transport heading for a military base was ambushed whilst crossing the nearly completed Wassara Bridge. Although the small American unit put up a strong fight, they were heavily outnumbered and the terrorists managed to steal the system. During the fight your team became separated and everyone is under fire. |
» |
The convoy being protected by the operators is ambushed by terrorists disguising themselves as bridge workers. They manage to fight off the terrorists but a separate team of terrorists were able to escape with the mortar guidance system.
Shadows[]
« | Our worst fears have come true. Terrorist have taken control of Kheran Dam and threaten to destroy it if their imprisoned comrades aren't freed. They operate a beacon device at its top, so that the dam can be hit multiple times at the same spot from near mountain range. They're using our own guided mortar rounds that were to be used against them. With the country having no adequate task force, the clock ticking and our unit still in the area we were sent to infiltrate the dam and disable the beacon. |
» |
The terrorists have assembled the mortar at the Kheran Dam, threatening to shell the dam if their demands are not met. However, their plan can be foiled if the radio beacon directing the mortars from inside the dam is disabled. The team infiltrates the dam's exterior and quietly eliminate the terrorists without raising the alarm.
Confrontation[]
« | The team has infiltrated Kheran Dam and now has to move to the top where the radio beacon is located. | » |
Having breached the dam's interior, the team realise that the beacon is too heavily protected. They decide to disable the power generators to cause a distraction and hopefully lure some of the terrorists to the lower levels. With over half of the terrorists killed in this way, they can now safely proceed to the upper levels.
So Close[]
« | You have successfully infiltrated Kheran Dam and made it to the top. Here you have to disable the radio beacon so that it can't be used to precisely guide mortar shells to destroy the dam. It seems, though, that this part is going to be pretty difficult. | » |
The terrorists had anticipated the team's arrival and ambushed the Operators as they proceeded to the upper levels. Despite the setback, they manage to once again come out ahead and eliminate the terrorists while destroying the beacon.
Rain Of Fire[]
« | With the beacon destroyed it's nearly impossible for the terrorists to create a weak point in the dam so that it would collapse - but it seems that they're going to try anyway. After losing the signal they've begun firing the mortar shells blindly at the area. That gave away their position and a drone with a special delivery from Uncle Sam is already on its way. Your team now has only one simple objective - to fight back to safety through the remaining enemies while avoiding the incoming deadly shells. |
» |
Despite their success, the terrorists have begun to shell the dam even without the beacon's signal to guide them. Friendly air support has been dispatched to eliminate the remaining terrorists, but the team must extract before they are overrun or worse, get struck by one of the mortars. They fought their way through and managed to get out, just as the last of the terrorists were annihilated by the airstrike.
