The P1 is a 9 mm handgun used by West German military forces and in limited numbers with revolutionaries in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The P1 is a short-recoil operated, locked-breech pistol that uses a double-action/single-action trigger. It is chambered to fire the 9×19 mm round.
It loads exclusively from 8-round magazines, and can attain a fire rate of up to 600 rounds per minute[CfgWp 6][Formula 1] with a muzzle velocity of 320 m/s.[CfgWp 7][Formula 2][note 1] It does not support being fitted with optical sights and cannot mount a suppressor.
Variants[]
P1SD[]

The P1SD is a sub-variant of the P1 pistol that has been modified to accept an undetachable sound suppressor. It is not used by any of the factions by default.
It should be noted that the P1SD loses its illuminated strips which makes it slightly more difficult to use in low-light conditions. The P1SD is also less accurate compared to the baseline P1 pistol and has ~ 2% increased dispersion[CfgWp 8], though this difference is negligible given the distances at which the P1SD will be employed (<50 metres).
Ironsights[]

It does feature an illuminated strip on the rear sight and the tip of the front sight post is also illuminated. Both will appear white in daylight but will glow green under low-light conditions.

It should be noted that the user aims with the sights on the suppressor rather than on the pistol itself. These sights are not illuminated.

Both the P1 and P1SD can load up to three types of magazines.[CfgWp 17][CfgWp 18] All three magazines share the same weight of 2.22222 "mass" units:[CfgMa 6][CfgMa 7][CfgMa 8]
9 mm 8Rnd P1 Ball DM11 Black Mag[]

Standard 8-round magazine loaded with 9 mm ball ammunition.[CfgMa 9]
Does not contain visible tracers.
9 mm 8Rnd P1 Ball DM51 Black Mag[]

Alternate magazine loaded with DM51 ammunition.[CfgMa 10] None of the rounds fired will emit visible tracers.
Performance-wise, its ammunition mostly identical to regular DM11-loaded magazines but has slightly increased stopping power[CfgAm 2], and retains energy better over longer distances[CfgAm 5] at the cost of having slightly earlier damage drop off[CfgAm 8] (penetration remains unchanged).
9 mm 8Rnd P1 Ball-SD DM81 Black Mag[]

Special magazine loaded with 9 mm DM81 ammunition.[CfgMa 11] None of the rounds fired will emit visible tracers.
Aerodynamically, the DM81 cartridge is identical to its DM51 counterpart. The main difference is that DM81 rounds are slightly less noticeable to AI-controlled units (both in terms of audibility[CfgAm 16] and visibility[CfgAm 17][CfgAm 18]). Their suppression effects (and radius of detection to its impacts) are also reduced.[CfgAm 19][CfgAm 20][CfgAm 21][CfgAm 22]

Trivia[]
- The P1's accuracy was improved after the release of Update 1.1.3844.[1]
- At release, only the baseline P1 pistol was available as part of the DLC's usable assets. The P1SD sub-variant was only added after Update 1.5.[2]
- Update 1.6 corrected issues with range limits and dispersion values for the AI armed with P1 pistols. Before Update 1.6 was released, AI units equipped with P1s shared the same dispersion values with human players, allowing them to hit targets with pinpoint accuracy at any distance.[3]
