The PGO-7V is a telescopic sight used in by both East German and Polish military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Design[]
Designed exclusively for the RPG-7 rocket launcher, the PGO-7V serves as the main method of sighting with the launcher:
- RPG-7 rocket launcher (40 mm)
The main scope uses a fixed magnification of 2x zoom.[CfgWp 1][CfgWp 2][Formula 1] Its reticle comprises of several elements. Beginning from the tip of the reticle's markers to the base, it consists of a cross, various scales for windage and elevation depending on the type of grenade loaded, as well as a stadiametric rangefinder.
The cross is used as the aiming point for targets and is also the main aiming point for when the optic is utilised on other platforms. By default, it is accurate against targets located at ranges of 50 metres away.
Additional markings are provided for both windage and lead estimation. The range scales represent the trajectory of various munition types:
- The "M" range scale is used with the basic PG-7V grenade.
- The "Л" scale represents the trajectory for the PG-7VL round.
- Lastly, the "P" scale represents the trajectory for both the PG-7VR and the TBG-7V grenade rounds.[note 1]
The stadiametric rangefinder is designed to estimate the distance of targets with a height of 2.7 metres (270 centimetres), starting at 200 metres and up to a maximum of 1,000 metres.
The user can choose to toggle an illuminated version of the sight's reticle for use in low-light conditions.[CfgWp 4] It is possible to switch over to the RPG-7's ironsights, though neither the primary scope nor the RPG-7's ironsights support manual zeroing.[CfgWp 5]
It should be noted that although PGO-7Vs technically can be employed onto firearms equipped with Dovetail mounts (but excluding SVD Dovetails)[CowsSlot 1], the reticle itself is not optimised for use on anything other than the RPG-7. Attaching the PGO-7V onto a weapon will also increase its inertia penalty by +0.1.[CfgWp 6]
Trivia[]
- Prior to Update 1.5, the PGO-7V was not able to activate an illuminated reticle.[1]
