« The PM is a Soviet semi-automatic pistol chambered for 9x18mm in 8-round magazines. As the Soviet Union's standard military sidearm since 1951, the PM was issued to North Vietnamese officers and Dac Cong commandos. A Vietnamese copy was produced as the K59. In rare cases it can be fitted with a suppressor.

The PM is a 9 mm handgun used by both PAVN forces and the Pathet Lao in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC.

Overview[]

This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.

The PM is a blowback operated, double action compact self-defence pistol that loads and fires the 9x18 mm cartridge.

It can only load 8-round magazines, and can attain a fire rate of ~ 461 rounds per minute[CfgWp 10][Formula 1] with a muzzle velocity of 280 m/s.[CfgWp 11] PMs cannot be customised with optics but their muzzles can be fitted with a 9 mm sound suppressor.[CfgWp 12] An FKB-1 flashlight can also be wielded alongside the pistol itself, though it is considered to be a "separate" weapon.[CfgWp 13]

Ironsights[]

Arma3-sogpfpm-ironsight-overview
The PM's ironsights cannot be manually zeroed. They are set to a fixed zeroing of 50 metres.[CfgWp 14]

Arma3-sogpfpmflashlight-ironsight-overview
The ironsights on PMs that are being dual-wielded cannot have their zeroing adjusted. They are set to a fixed zeroing of 50 metres.[CfgWp 15]

Trivia[]

  • The FKB-1 flashlight is not actually held by the user's left hand. It will simply appear to float in mid-air if they perform an action that specifically moves their left hand away in a different direction (e.g. opening the gear menu).
  • Prior to Update 1.2, the PM had slightly more recoil compared to all other semi-automatic handguns. This was changed by the patch's release so that it more closely matched the recoil of other pistol-type sidearms.[1]
    • The patch also adjusted the PM's reloading animation to reduce visual clipping issues.[1]

Formulae

  1. 60 / reloadTime = 60 / 0.13
  2. Magazine's initSpeed * Ammo's caliber * 15 / 1000 = 315 * 0.8 * 15 / 1000
  3. Weapon's initSpeed * Ammo's caliber * 15 / 1000 = 280 * 0.8 * 15 / 1000

Notes[]

  1. Only applies to the magazine itself. Both of the PM's weapon classes have their own initSpeed values defined (280 m/s).
  2. This is the PM's actual muzzle velocity. The weapon class initSpeed value (280 m/s) takes precedence over the magazine initSpeed value (315 m/s).
  3. Damage will be reduced if the projectile's velocity drops below this value.
  4. This is the actual penetration depth of the PM's 9 mm ammunition. The weapon class initSpeed value (280 m/s) takes precedence over the magazine initSpeed value (315 m/s), affecting its penetration formula as a result.
