The PN-3 is a handheld night vision device that remains unused by any faction in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Design[]
The PN-3 is a Soviet-made handheld night vision monocular. Although it is carried (and held) as a sidearm[CfgWp 2], the PN-3 is purely utilised as an observation device in lieu of head-worn night vision goggles.
The only drawback to it is that the operator must give up the use of a proper sidearm in order to be able to utilise it. Otherwise, it serves as an alternate (albeit clunky) means of retaining access to night vision without needing to mount an actual NV-capable scope or carry a pair of NVGs.
Sight[]

The PN-3's "sight" cannot have its magnification adjusted beyond a fixed zoom of 2.225x.[CfgWp 3][CfgWp 4][Formula 1] Its night vision mode is also permanently active and cannot be switched off.[CfgWp 5]
Trivia[]
- The PN-3 was not originally included as part of the DLC's launch assets. It was only added after the release of Update 1.5.[1]
