The PzF 3 is a 60 mm rocket launcher used exclusively by West German military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The PzF 3 is a man-portable, shoulder-fired anti-tank weapon. It is designed to fire unguided 60 mm rocket-propelled grenades.
It can load and fire three types of pre-loaded 60 mm rockets which use either high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) or high-explosive anti-tank multi-purpose (HEAT-MP) warheads.
The PzF 3 features an integrated optical sight with a magnification of 3x, though it does not have the ability to mount any other kind of optic or laser sight.
Optics[]

The PzF 3's optical scope uses a fixed zeroing setting of 200 metres. It is not possible to manually change this to a lower or higher setting.

Left: Target tank is positioned exactly 200 metres away.
Right: Direct hit on turret, inflicting a catastrophic kill.
Landing hits with the PzF 3 only requires the user to position the launcher so that the reticle's markers align with the silhouette of the target. The target should "fit" almost perfectly within the bounds of the measuring frame, and the visor mark ("+" shape) should line up with the intended point of impact.

Left: Target tank is positioned 401 metres away.
Right: Direct hit on turret, causing catastrophic damage.
For targets at distances under ~ 60 metres, the uppermost marking (the adjustment mark) can be used to aim with instead. However, it is not recommended to attempt hitting targets located at a range beyond 400 metres.[note 2]
Munitions[]
The PzF 3 is capable of loading and firing three types of rounds. Due to its disposable setup[note 1], each PzF 3 launcher is always pre-loaded with a specific round which is "swapped" by simply discarding the used tube with a fresh one (only the optical sight and FCU is retained).
Regardless of the type of warhead loaded, all launcher tubes have a weight of 144.444 "mass" units:
DM12A1[]

HEAT DM12A1
Warhead | Damage type | Base damage value | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
Primary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 95 | 2.04 |
Secondary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 720 | 705.225 |
Standard-issue round. Uses a hollow charge high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warhead.
It is effective against most light/medium-armoured ground vehicles, though it can also be employed against Main Battle Tanks if necessary (striking the rear of the tank where the engine is located is most ideal). Subsequently, the small blast radius of the primary charge means that it isn't particularly useful against infantry targets; as such, the DM12A1 should only be utilised against vehicles.
The DM12A1 is always fired with an initial velocity of 220 m/s and takes just 0.1 seconds to reach its maximum speed of 270 m/s. The primary explosive charge has a blast radius of 3.6 metres and is partially capable of piercing up to ~ 2 millimetres of armour plating, while the kinetic submunition has an armour penetration depth of ~ 705 millimetres.
DM22A1[]

HEAT DM22A1
Warhead | Damage type | Base damage value | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
Primary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 95 | 2.04 |
Secondary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 941 | 906.705 |
Alternate HEAT-type round with a tandem hollow charge warhead.
Thanks to its improved warhead, the DM22A1's penetrator is significantly stronger than the DM12A1 and can easily punch through the frontal armour of most Warsaw Pact tanks. Like the DM12A1, the explosive radius of the primary charge isn't particularly wide, therefore the DM22A1 is best reserved for vehicular targets rather than infantry.
As with the DM12A1, the DM22A1 is similarly fired with an initial velocity of 220 m/s and requires only 0.1 seconds to attain a maximum velocity of 270 m/s. The primary charge has a blast radius of 3.6 metres and is partially capable of piercing through ~ 2 millimetres of armour plating, whilst the kinetic submunition is capable of penetrating up to ~ 906 millimetres of vehicle armour.
DM32[]

HEAT-MP DM32
Warhead | Damage type | Base damage value | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
Primary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 95 | 2.04 |
Secondary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 400 | 110.82 |
Anti-structure round with a tandem charge high-explosive anti-tank multi-purpose (HEAT-MP) warhead.
A dedicated munition intended for razing structures and destroying unarmoured/lightly armoured ground vehicles, the DM32 is quite lacklustre given its sharply reduced penetration capability. Since it retains the exact same flight characteristics, blast radius, and carrying weight of its alternatives, the DM32's uses are niche and should be disregarded for most scenarios.
The DM32 is fired with an initial velocity of 220 m/s and needs only 0.1 seconds of flight time to gain a maximum flight speed of 270 m/s. The primary charge has a blast radius of 3.6 metres and is partially considered to be armour piercing, being able to cut through just ~ 2 millimetres of armour plating. The kinetic submunition on the other hand, has an armour penetration depth of ~ 110 millimetres.
Trivia[]
- The PzF 3 was not initially available as a usable weapon upon Global Mobilization's launch and was only added after Update 1.3's release.[1]
- Prior to Update 1.3.5647, the PzF 3's tubes were extremely light and only weighed 33.33 "mass". It was entirely possible to haul up to twelve tubes at a time in a single backpack with little-to-no penalties on the user's stamina.[2]
- Update 1.5's release changed the firing sound of the PzF 3.[3]

Notes[]
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 The PzF 3 is technically considered to be a disposable weapon. However, due to the way that the launcher is configured to work, it is functionally treated as a reloadable weapon in regular gameplay.
- ↑ It is technically possible to hit targets as far away as 550 metres. However, the rocket projectile only lasts for 10 seconds before it automatically explodes. Therefore, hitting targets at this range is inconsistent under the best of circumstances and can only be reliably achieved in a controlled environment.
