The RPG-7 is a 40 mm rocket launcher used by several REDFOR and INDFOR factions in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The RPG-7 is an unguided, shoulder-fired, anti-tank launcher.
It can load and fire two types of 40 mm grenades that are fitted with high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warheads. The RPG-7 is primarily meant to be used alongside the PGO-7V day sight. However, it also has the ability to mount night vision scopes, riflescopes, and collimators. Additionally, laser sights that can project both a visible or infrared-only beam are also available in lieu of an optic.
Without an optic attached, the user can still fall back onto using its (non-magnified) ironsights which can be zeroed up to a maximum of 400 metres.
Ironsights[]

The RPG-7's ironsights support manual zeroing, starting from a minimum of 100 metres up to a maximum of 400 metres (100, 200, 300, 400).[note 1] By default, the ironsights utilise a zeroing of 100 metres.
Camouflage[]
- Brown: Standard black finish with light brown furniture.
- Plum: Black finish with plum-coloured furniture.
Munitions[]
NOTE: The RPG-7 can utilise non-Global Mobilization RPG-7 grenade rounds. To minimise clutter, they are deliberately excluded from this section.
The RPG-7 is capable of firing two types of grenades. They both share the same weight of 55.5556 "mass" units:
40 mm HEAT PG-7V[]

HEAT PG-7V
Warhead | Damage type | Base damage value | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
Primary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 95 | 2.04 |
Secondary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 340 | 322.38 |
Standard-issue grenade. Uses a high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warhead.
They are always launched with an initial velocity of 170 m/s. After being launched for 0.1 seconds, it will take a further 0.45 seconds to reach a top in-flight speed of 212 m/s.
The primary explosive warhead has a blast radius of 3.6 metres. It is partially capable of piercing through armour plating, though it has a penetration depth of only ~ 2 millimetres. On the other hand, the secondary kinetic submunition has a launch velocity of 1,000 m/s and a penetration depth of ~ 322 millimetres.
40 mm HEAT PG-7VL[]

HEAT PG-7VL
Warhead | Damage type | Base damage value | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
Primary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 95 | 2.04 |
Secondary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 520 | 503.73 |
Alternate grenade with an improved HEAT warhead.
It is launched with an initial velocity of 170 m/s and requires a further 0.45 seconds to reach a maximum flight speed of 212 m/s (beginning 0.1 seconds after launch).
The PG-7VL is essentially identical to the baseline PG-7V but features a much stronger kinetic submunition which can punch through thicker armour plates. The PG-7VL can easily cut into the frontal armour of older tanks with no armour packages installed, though it still needs to land directly on a vulnerable component to inflict full damage.
The PG-7VL's primary explosive component has a blast radius of 3.6 metres and is partially capable of piercing up to ~ 2 millimetres of armour plating. The secondary kinetic submunition has a launch velocity of 1,000 m/s and a penetration depth of ~ 503 millimetres.
Trivia[]
- The RPG-7 was originally restricted to launching just one grenade type (the PG-7V). The enhanced PG-7VL round was only included after the release of Update 1.2.[1]
- It was originally a REDFOR-exclusive weapon until the release of Update 1.5, which added the (then-new) INDFOR Revolutionaries faction as users of the RPG-7.[2]
- The patch also changed its firing sound and introduced several scopes (like the NSPU) and laser sights for REDFOR weapons, allowing the RPG-7 to mount more than just the PGO-7V and the ZFK 4x25.[2]

Notes[]
- ↑ Zeroing settings will not appear on the player's Heads Up Display (HUD) even if they have it enabled in their difficulty options. The ironsight's appearance will still change to reflect any adjustments made, however.
