NOTE: This article is about the factionless Raven Vest in ArmA 3. For its alternate counterpart in the semi-official Western Sahara Creator DLC, see Raven Vest (Western Sahara). |
The Raven Vest is a ballistic-resistant vest in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
The Raven Vest is essentially a ballistic-resistant version of CSAT's LBV Harness. It has a weight of 50 "mass" units[CfgWp 1] and provides enough space for up to 140 units worth of ammunition/items.[CfgWp 2] It is rated at Level I protection standards. The Raven Vest covers the wearer's chest, diaphragm and abdomen.
However, it should be noted that although it retains protective attributes, the Raven Vest is little more than a glorified version of the Tactical Vest that contains an extra 40 "mass" worth of storage capacity. As a Level I vest, it cannot protect its wearer from point blank hits by 7.62 mm bullets (only 5.56 mm and similar cartridges will be survivable), nor will it do much to prevent them from incurring heavy (often lethal) damage from explosions.

Trivia[]
- There is a visible gap in-between the straps of the vest and the wearer's shoulders. This is because the model's proportions are scaled incorrectly and do not actually "fit" properly when worn.
- The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
- The Raven Vest is all that remains of ArmA 3's original Russian faction.[1][2]
- Formerly known as Raven Security, this REDFOR sub-faction existed during ArmA 3's pre-Alpha phase of development.[3] It was intended to be a Russian private military company which specialised in providing security services for Iranian research facilities established on Limnos (the former name of Altis prior to ArmA 3's development overhaul in 2012).[4]
- Despite the appearance of an actual Russian military faction following the Contact expansion pack's release, the vest itself still remains unused by any of their units or any other faction for that matter (aside from specific storyline characters).
