NOTE: This article is about the multi-faction Raven Vest in the semi-official Western Sahara Creator DLC. For its factionless counterpart in ArmA 3 itself, see Raven Vest.

The Raven Vest is a ballistic-resistant vest worn by both SFIA paramilitary fighters and Tura tribesmen in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Western Sahara Creator DLC.

Overview[]

A ballistic-resistant variant of the standard-issue LBV Harness, the Raven Vest has a weight of 50 "mass"[CfgWp 1] and provides enough storage space for up to 140 units worth of ammunition/items.[CfgWp 2] Raven Vests are rated at Level I protection standards. The vest covers the wearer's chest, diaphragm and abdomen.

The Raven Vest will not do much to minimise damage from explosions. At point blank range, the Raven Vest will only allow the wearer to survive a single hit from a 5.56 mm bullet. Being struck in the chest by anything larger than 5.56 mm (i.e. 7.62 mm and above) will result in fatal injuries unless the bullet has lost most of its velocity at the time of impact.

  • Black: All-black colour scheme.
  • Olive: Standard olive green colour scheme. Used by both the SFIA and ex-military Tura defectors.

Trivia[]

  • After Update 1.1, the Raven Vest's proportions were altered so that they correctly "fit" onto the shoulders of the wearer.[1]
The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
  • Arma3-vest-wsravenvestcsat
There is a hidden version of the Raven Vest that has a coyote brown/khaki colour scheme (Classname: V_lxWS_TacVestIR_brn).[2] It essentially shares the same textures with the LBV Harness worn by conventional Mediterranean and North African CSAT soldiers. It can still be equipped through the use of scripting commands or a custom addon to unhide it.
    • According to the development team, this version was deliberately hidden by choice due to the overall poor quality of its textures and the Raven Vest's low poly model.[3]
