Shapka-41 is a military installation located in the semi-abandoned region of Nadbór, Livonia.
Overview[]
Shapka-41 is a Cold War-era radar facility that was formerly used by the Soviet Armed Forces.[1] It was decommissioned after Livonia regained its independence from the Soviet Union, though it has been left in a state of disrepair ever since then.[2]
In recent years, Shapka-41 has been partially reactivated by the Livonian government, though it is no longer used for its original purpose. Rather than restoring the radar for gathering signals intelligence, the Livonian Defense Force has retrofitted the former base into a testing range for drones and other robotic vehicles as it lies within the region's military exclusion zone.[1][3]
Facilities[]
Tactical operations centre[]
The TOC is located in the middle of the facility, just to the south of the disused radar. It doubles as a supply depot and is used to store weapons and equipment.
The garages to its west are used to store and repair vehicles such as utility trucks and infantry fighting vehicles.
Brig[]
Located near the front entrance, the old administrative building serves as an improvised holding facility to detain looters and military deserters.
Field hospital[]
A portable tent located next to the brig is used to treat wounded personnel.
