The Shemag is a wearable hat worn by multiple factions in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
Made entirely out of cotton, this headdress wrap is simply intended to cover the wearer's face to ward off dirt and sand. It has a weight of 6 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]
Shemags do not protect the wearer from small arms fire and indirect explosions.
Variants[]
Headset[]
This variant simply features a headset worn alongside the Shemag. Aside from its appearance and being restricted to only a single colour scheme (Olive), there are no other differences when it is compared to regular Shemags.
Camouflage[]
- Olive: Olive green colour scheme with a black pattern.
- Tan: Desert tan colour scheme with a dark brown pattern.
- White: Pale white colour scheme with a dark brown pattern.
Trivia[]
- The Headset variant was not initially available at ArmA 3's release and was only included in Game Update 1.08 (as part of the AAF Reinforcements Pack).[1]
- Prior to Game Update 1.50, parts of the Shemag's model would visibly clip into the wearer's cheeks if the user had an Asian character's face.[2]
- The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
- There are two unused and hidden variants of the Shemag (Classnames: H_Shemag_khk, H_Shemag_tan). Both are referred to as the "Shemag mask", though there isn't actually any statistical differences with the regular Shemag (they still share the same weight of 6 "mass" units).[3][4]
