South Lombakka is an African nation located along the West and Central African coast.[1]
History
Civil war
Little is known about South Lombakka's past, though the country has remained locked in a bitter civil war with its Northern neighbour.[2]
The conflict has yet to be resolved as the two sides have only agreed to a temporary ceasefire.[2] Many regions of the country near the border with the North remain heavily mined and littered with Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) leftover from the fighting.[3]
Geography
Map cut-out
South Lombakka is located in both the Central and Western regions of Africa. It is a coastal nation that is bordered to Cameroon in the south-east and Nigeria to the north-west.[1]
The capital city of the country is not known, though one major city is known to be called Kelakam.[2]
Climate
South Lombakka usually experiences hot summers, though it can be cooler during some years.[4]
Politics
Diplomacy
South Lombakka maintains a temporary ceasefire with its northern neighbour, North Lombakka.[2] The two countries continue to remain bitterly divided.
It is not known as to whether the country is diplomatically aligned towards the East or the West (as of 2035).
Economy
The country's economy largely relies on agricultural exports.[5]
The lingering traces of the civil war have left many farmers maimed or killed by landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO), however. This in turn has led to a ripple effect on the nation's economy, with families being unable to continue farming and forcing many to find work in the larger cities.[5]
Trivia
- South Lombakka's existence is only known from one of IDAP's Survivors' Stories which interviewed Chidiebere Idowu, a landmine victim who lived in the country. His full story can be read in the IDAP's showcase.
- In spite of this however, scant information about other concrete details concerning the country itself has yet to be revealed.
- South Lombakka's landmass, as shown in the afformentioned Survivors' Stories, seems to have been based on the south-eastern portion of Liberia.
- The Art of War exhibition showcase in the Art of War DLC contains additional references to South Lombakka's existence.
- Gallery visitors can choose to donate funds to charity organisations supplying humanitarian aid to the country.[6] An artwork created by a member of the ARMA community also contains a brief quip directly referencing another named settlement in South Lombakka (a settlement named "Galbo").[7] However, it is unclear if this is canonical within the main Armaverse due to its usage of unofficial, community-made assets.
