« Compact low-profile chest rig with 4 standard pouches that can accommodate majority of magazines and utility pouches for every use. It however does not provide protection due to its light weight.

The Tactical Chest Rig is a vest worn by Pacific CSAT forces and L'Ensemble guerillas in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.

Overview[]

This is a premium asset that requires ownership of the Apex expansion pack.

Providing a combination of durability and reliability, Tactical Chest Rigs are made out of lightweight nylon fabrics and contain multiple single magazine pouches. They have a weight of 20 "mass" units[CfgWp 1] and provide enough space for up to 140 units worth of ammunition/items.[CfgWp 2]

Tactical Chest Rigs are often worn by L'Ensemble anti-government fighters and Pacific CSAT soldiers in lieu of the LBV Harness. Though their maximum storage capacity is slightly lower (140 versus 160 "mass"), they compensate by being 10 "mass" lighter to wear and impose less of a stamina burden.

In all other aspects, Tactical Chest Rigs remain functionally identical to the LBV Harness and face the same inherent drawbacks; providing absolutely no protection to its wearer from either ballistic or explosive damage sources.

Camouflage[]

  • Coyote: Coyote brown colour scheme.
  • Green: Ranger green colour scheme.
  • Olive: Olive green colour scheme.

Trivia[]

  • In spite of possessing a holster attached to the front of the vest, the Tactical Chest Rig's in-game model lacks the necessary proxy for displaying holstered pistols. As a result, it will not show them even if the user is carrying one within their inventory.
  • Initially, the Tactical Chest Rig remained unused by any faction in ArmA 3. It was later changed so that some Pacific CSAT forces would utilise it as an alternative to the LBV Harness after the release of Game Update 1.92.[2]
    • The Old Man mini-campaign/scenario would also depict it being widely used by the L'Ensemble, a faction of Tanoan anti-government insurgents.[3]
