Armed Assault Wiki

The Tactical Backpack is a multi-faction backpack in ArmA 3.

Overview[]

Light to carry, the Tactical Backpack has a maximum capacity of 240 "mass"[CfgVh 2] units and weighs 40 units when it is unloaded.[CfgVh 1] It is commonly employed for packing static heavy weapons such as the Mk30 heavy machine gun or Mk6 mortar.

Compared to the smaller Field Pack, the Tactical Backpack has a better capacity-to-weight ratio as it can store 40 more "mass" units' worth of equipment. Though it cannot carry as much as the Kitbag, it is lighter and doesn't put as much of a strain on the wearer's stamina.

Camouflage[]

  • Khaki: Worn-out khaki colour scheme. Primarily used by all factions for disassembled static weapon parts.
  • MTP: MTP-camouflage scheme with khaki-coloured straps.
  • Hex: Arid Hexacam camouflage scheme with tan-coloured straps.
  • Black: Black colour scheme with olive-coloured straps.
  • Olive: Olive green colour scheme with light brown-coloured straps.
  • Green: Ranger green colour scheme with olive green-coloured straps.

Expeditionary Forces Creator DLC only

NOTE: The following camouflage schemes will only be available if the third party-developed Expeditionary Forces Creator DLC is activated.

This is a premium asset that requires ownership of the Expeditionary Forces Creator DLC.

  • Coyote Brown: Coyote brown colour scheme.

Trivia[]

  • The in-game model for the ArmA 3 Tactical Backpack is actually an updated port of the British Assault Pack used by British Army forces in ArmA 2's British Armed Forces DLC.
  • As with its predecessor, the Tactical Backpack appears to be inspired by Eagle Industries' "Airborne Assault Pack".
    • Alternately, it may also be based on London Bridge Trading's "Jumpable Devil Radio Backpack", specifically the older generation "LBT-1728A".
  • At launch, the Tactical Backpack had a weight/storage capacity of 20/160 "mass" units (respectively). This was changed after Game Update 1.04 with the release of the campaign's first episode.[1]
