The player controls USMC Special Forces operative Sergeant Leon Ortega. Dawn has arrived, and U.S. forces on Rahmadi have finished constructing their forward camp. They are now in position to strike further inland to hunt down the elusive leader of the SLA remnants.

Walkthrough[]

Primary 1: Stay at the camp[]

Head directly to meet with Captain Peter Carrey. You can grab some additional ammo from the supply crates if you chose to use SLA weapons but it's not necessary.

Primary 2: Go to see captain Carrey[]

Speak to Capt. Carrey. He's standing next to the tent with a map of Rahmadi inside.

Primary 3: Sgt Statham wants to have a word with you[]

Head on over to Sergeant Statham's position at the briefing area. It's on the western side of the camp next to the palm tree grove. Be sure to manually save before doing so to save yourself the trouble of having to waste time running back if you happen to die during the next objective.

Along the way you'll pass an ammunition dump with several crates containing an assortment of BLUFOR weapons. Grab an M136 off one of the crates and stock up on rockets (bring at least four with you). Don't forget to ditch your 9 mm sidearm as it's useless for this mission. Fill the remaining secondary magazine slots with additional 40 mm HE rounds for your underbarrel grenade launcher.

Primary 4: Meet your squad[]

Once the attack begins and the briefing with Sgt. Statham ends, rendezvous with the other members of Nightwolf down below (next to the wrecked truck).

Before moving, take cover and help the camp's garrison fight off the SLA squad on the north-eastern side. Prioritise eliminating the squad's machine gunner, otherwise he will suppress Ortega if he's left alive for too long. Once they're all dead, sprint towards the meeting location and ignore any further firefights.

Primary 5: Find the president[]

Remain at the camp for now. Another attack wave will be arriving shortly from the north and will move through the bushes. Kill the attackers and rearm/heal at the crates/medical tent as required, then proceed north towards the village of Rahmadi at grid Be88.

You will encounter more enemy infantry backed by several armed cars as you move along. A mechanised rifle squad will also arrive a few minutes after the first attack wave is repelled. If you didn't already grab one as previously suggested, you can collect an M136 launcher from the ammo dump in the middle of the camp.

When the first and second waves of attackers have been killed, sprint east towards the side of the U.S. camp where you started but divert north instead. As you move up, slowly make your way through the village defenders and eliminate threats around the outskirts. Don't spend too much time doing this however, or else you'll fail the mission.

Once you enter the village, be wary of the elite SLA troops protecting the area. Head for the home with the flag post and field toilet inside its courtyard. Approach the unarmed SLA officer. A cutscene with Ortega interrogating the man will trigger, then the mission will end shortly afterwards.

Optional 6: Take off some shilkas at the village[]

The village of Rahmadi has four Shilkas on the northern and southern sides. You can plant satchels, blow them up with the M136, or salvage an RPG launcher off dead SLA troops. Any method will suffice, but you only have to destroy one for the successful completion of this objective.

Tips[]

  • Save often. The SLA's AI can be quite unpredictable due to how they randomly assign their movement waypoints and incredibly poor (or rather, lack of) driving skills. It's not uncommon to see lone soldiers hiding inside bushes and ambushing you at seemingly "safe" areas or see BMPs and armed cars driving over their own allies and getting stuck on rock mounds.
  • Remember to rearm yourself from the supply crates at the U.S. camp as required. You can also get full heals at the medical tent if Ortega gets injured and there are no medics available.
  • A friendly sniper's corpse can usually be found amongst the bushes on the north-east side of the western camp. His M24 is extremely useful for the ranges you'll be fighting at. Paired with an M136, you can easily engage all SLA attackers long before they can get close enough to return fire.
    • However, do keep in mind that Ortega will be useless for CQB at the village unless you bring a sidearm.
  • Turning down the terrain detail in your graphical settings will remove the map's grass. Although it'll degrade the visual quality of your gameplay, hiding the grass will help you spot enemies more easily. Furthermore, you'll be able to shoot while staying prone without having your vision be obstructed by grass.

Trivia[]

  • Because MARPAT Desert Marines were only included after the release of Patch 1.14[1], the mission still features UCP-camouflaged Army troops as opposed to dedicated Marine units.
  • Getting close to some of the objects throughout the camp will prompt Ortega to utter a few lines of unique dialogue (such as the parked APCs taking up "valuable parking space").
  • If the timer runs out and the mission fails, a glitch can occur where the normal ending cutscene with Ortega interrogating the SLA officer still plays but no dialogue will be uttered which then causes a soft lock. As controls will still be locked even after the screen fades to black, the player will need to force exit from the game through other means.
