Topolin is a regional capital of the semi-abandoned region of Nadbór, Livonia.
Overview[]
Topolin is the district capital of the Upper Biela Valley Region.[1][2] It resides right next to the Biela River, often referred to by locals as the so-called "Valley of Blossoms" due to its importance to both Topolin and the rest of the Nadbór region's agricultural output.[3]
The town is somewhat infamous for its past history. In December 1944 at the height of the Second World War, Topolin was the site of a bloody massacre between a penal battalion of victorious Red Army troops and defeated Wehrmacht forces.[4]
