The Towing Tractor is a wheeled tow tractor used exclusively by U.S. Marine flight deck crews in ArmA 2.

Design[]

The Towing Tractor is a logistical vehicle that is designed to tow aircraft aboard aircraft carriers and LHDs. It is exclusively operated by flight deck crews stationed on the 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit's lead ship, the USS Khe Sanh (LHD-9).

Crew Capacity
The Towing Tractor only supports a single crewman in the form of its driver. No passengers may be transported.

Protection: Hitpoints[]

The Towing Tractor has a base armour value of 20.[CfgVh 5]

Successful strikes to any of the following highlighted sections will inflict full damage to the component:

Body[]

The Towing Tractor's body can withstand up to 20 points of damage.[CfgVh 6][Formula 1] Depletion of its integrity will always result in the vehicle's destruction.[CfgVh 7]

Wheels[]

Each of the Towing Tractor's four wheels can take just 3 points of damage before their tyres burst.[CfgVh 8][CfgVh 9][CfgVh 10][CfgVh 11][Formula 2] At least 30% of damage inflicted upon any of the wheels will be shared with the Towing Tractor's main "health" pool. The Towing Tractor can potentially explode if the vehicle is at critical "health" status after two or more wheels are destroyed.[CfgVh 12][CfgVh 13][CfgVh 14][CfgVh 15]

Defensive sensors[]

The Towing Tractor is not equipped with defensive sensors. The driver will not be warned if a guided weapon system is attempting to lock onto it.[CfgVh 16] There will also be no alert if guided projectiles have successfully locked onto the vehicle and are inbound towards it.[CfgVh 17]

Trivia[]

  • Despite its namesake, the in-game Towing Tractor isn't actually capable of towing aircraft as ArmA 2 does not have engine-level support for vehicle towing.
