The UTV is a vest worn by East German military forces in ArmA 3. They were added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
Introduced as part of the NVA's Uniform Trials (UTV), this webbing forms one part of the overall UTV carry rig system.[1] Although these UTVs are standalone vests, they are usually paired with the BESPA ballistic-resistant vest. They are customised depending on the wearer's role within the squad:
- The baseline vest that only has webbing and a belt with no pouches or bags attached
- A Leader loadout for squad leaders
- A Machinegunner loadout for light and medium machine gunners
- An Officer loadout, identical to the baseline belt vest with the only difference that it features a pistol holster
- The basic Rifleman loadout, intended for most infantry classes
- A Specialist loadout, exclusive to heavy weapons soldiers and anti-air/anti-tank infantry
Variant | Weight ("mass") | Storage capacity ("mass") |
---|---|---|
UTV, Belt | 0[CfgWp 1] | 1[CfgWp 2] |
UTV, Leader | 40[CfgWp 3] | 160[CfgWp 4] |
UTV, Machinegunner | 30[CfgWp 5] | 200[CfgWp 6] |
UTV, Officer | 0[CfgWp 7] | 1[CfgWp 8] |
UTV, Rifleman | 40[CfgWp 9] | 160[CfgWp 10] |
UTV, Specialist | 30[CfgWp 11] | 160[CfgWp 12] |
Regardless of configuration, the pouches on all UTVs are adorned in the Strichtarn camouflage pattern. UTVs do not retain any protective attributes, and will not reduce damage caused by ballistic or explosive damage sources.

Trivia[]
- Standalone UTV webbing vests were not initially included as part of Global Mobilization's launch assets. They were only added after the release of Update 1.6, specifically included along with the introduction of fictional 1990s East German troops.[1]
