« | This Czechoslovakian-manufactured truck has many advantages for use in a warzone. Not only does it have extremely rugged design which gives maximum reliability over extremely rough terrain, but also can be easily fitted to fulfill wide range of functions as fuel truck or launch unit. Vehicle Description

Design
A general-purpose, all-terrain utility vehicle, the V3S is a single engine 6x6 truck that is designed for both civil and military purposes.
Features
The PV3S is available in up to four additional variants aside from the baseline transporter. This includes a fuel tanker, munitions carrier, mobile repair and a civilian-only transporter.
Manufactured at almost the same time as the Ural truck (its Soviet-made counterpart), the V3S is similarly designed to be a rugged and multi-role capable vehicle that can be configured for a variety of tasks.
Mobility
The PV3S' overall handling is quite similar to the Ural family but has a slightly better turn rate (though not by much).

V3S variants.
However, this does come at the cost of acceleration as the PV3S series takes much longer to reach its top speed even while driving on paved/flat terrain.
Drawbacks
Like the Ural, neither the cab nor rear flatbed of the PV3S provides ballistic protection for its passengers or crew.
Unless absolutely necessary, no model of the PV3S should be sent anywhere near a combat zone as it can be easily destroyed by small arms fire (let alone anti-vehicle weaponry).
Crew Capacity
All variants of the PV3S support both a driver and a single passenger in the cab. The transporter models are able to carry up to ten more passengers who sit in the rear flatbed (not including the cab passenger).
Variants
Baseline variant.
It can transport up to eleven passengers, one in the cab who sits next to the driver and ten in the rear flatbed, which is covered over by a tarpaulin (note that the cover does not provide ballistic protection).
Carries spare parts, tools, and additional components that can repair nearby land vehicles and grounded aircraft.
Has only two seats for the driver and a single cab passenger.
Carries a large trailer fitted onto the rear flatbed. It can resupply the weapon systems used by nearby ground vehicles and landed aircraft.
Although visually identical to transporter variants, the Reammo variant cannot carry any passengers other than front cab passenger (like all other logistics-oriented models of the PV3S).
Has a large fuel tank attached to the rear flatbed. It can refuel nearby land vehicles and grounded aircraft. Contains the same amount of seats as the Repair variant.
Camouflage
- Grey: Rusted, pale light blue paint scheme with a white tarpaulin cover. Used on civilian V3S trucks.
- Guerrilla: Identical paint scheme used on civilian V3S trucks, but with FIA markings spraypainted over parts of the hood and frame. Only used by the Nogovan Partisans and FIA rebels.
Protection
All variants of the PV3S have 30 points worth of armour plating.
Trivia
- The in-game V3S is modelled after the real-world 1964 variant of the "V3S" that was then-designed by Praga, a truck manufacturer based in the former Czechoslovakia.
- According to his response to a fan question posted to the livestream of Cold War Assault's 20th anniversary of release, it is the favourite civilian vehicle of Bohemia Interactive's CEO, Marek Španěl.

Design
Returning from Cold War Assault, the V3S continues to serve as a rugged and reliable (albeit outdated) logistics truck
Features
The V3S is now available in up to six additional variants aside from the baseline transport model, ranging from an open-top transporter, fuel carrier, ammunition transport, field repair, and salvager/supply carrier models.
Mainly used by NAPA guerillas as well as with the Takistani Army and militia and their rebel counterparts, the V3S family of trucks remain as the primary workhorses of their factions' logistics chain.
Mobility
The ArmA 2 V3S handles slightly worse compared to the Ural, and has much more difficulty maintaining its stability while driving off-road due to having a higher centre of gravity.
When it comes to acceleration and top speed however, the two trucks are virtually identical to each other and have barely (if any) noticeable differences.
Drawbacks
As before, the V3S still provides no protection for its riders from any kind of damage, whether it be small arms fire or explosives.
The V3S' stability issues also make it extremely easy for the entire vehicle to rollover even at moderate speeds, especially when driving off steep terrain.
Crew Capacity
The V3S always has enough seats to carry both the driver and a single cab passenger.
Variants
Baseline variant.
Can transport up to thirteen passengers. The rear section is covered with a tarpaulin which can hide its passengers from view (note that the tarpaulin does not provide ballistic protection).
Identical to the baseline transport variant but lacks the tarpaulin cover. Transports the same number of passengers.
Carries spare parts, tools, and additional components that can repair nearby land vehicles and grounded aircraft. Has only two seats for the driver and a single cab passenger.
Visually identical to the Repair variant, but the rear container stores supply crates instead. It can re-arm nearby land vehicles and grounded aircraft.
This is the only model of the V3S out of all the other logistics variants that is capable of transporting a third passenger who sits in the rear of the truck.
Has a fuel tank attached to the rear flatbed. It can refuel nearby land vehicles and grounded aircraft. Contains the same amount of seats as the Repair variant.
Visually identical to the Reammo variant. It will automatically be dispatched from the closest forward base to a nearby town to increase its "supply" value.
(*) These variants are completely non-functional in normal gameplay and only work in Capture The Island (CTI) scenarios created with the Warfare module.
Camouflage
- Olive: Olive green paint scheme with a white tarpaulin (on covered models). Used by Chernarussian/Takistani civilian, NAPA and Takistani Rebel trucks.
- Desert: Two-tone desert tan/olive green camouflage scheme with a white tarpaulin. Exclusively used by Takistani Army and their Militia allies.
Protection
All V3s variants have a base armour value of 40.
Successful strikes to any of the following highlighted sections will inflict full damage to the component:
All V3S variants share the same component hit zones regardless of their intended role.
Body
The truck's body can survive up to 40 points of damage.
Engine
The engine can only withstand 12 points of damage before failure. At least 50% of damage is shared with the truck's main "health" pool.
A damaged engine will prevent the V3S from attaining its top speed.
Fuel tank
The fuel tanks can take just 16 points of damage before rupturing. At least 20% of damage is shared with the truck's main "health" pool.
Damaging the fuel tank will cause the truck to gradually leak fuel over time.
Wheels
Each tyre can only take 6 points of damage before bursting.
Trivia
- Rusted wreckages of the V3S are littered in remote regions of ArmA 3's Livonia terrain added with the Contact expansion, though the truck itself is not a featured as a drivable vehicle.
