The VZ.61 is a 7.65 mm machine pistol used that remains unused by any faction in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The VZ.61 is a blowback operated, selective-fire machine pistol. It is chambered to fire the 7.65×17 mm cartridge.
It can only load from 20-round curved magazines and has a muzzle velocity of 320 m/s.[CfgMa 2][note 1] Depending on its selected firemode, the VZ.61 can attain a fire rate of 612 rounds per minute when firing on semi-auto[CfgWp 8][Formula 1] or up to ~ 899 RPM when firing on full auto.[CfgWp 9][Formula 2] The VZ.61 cannot be fitted with optical sights nor is it possible to mount a muzzle suppressor.

The Sidearm variant simply has the wire stock folded, allowing the user to carry it in their secondary weapon slot.
Aside from not being classified as a primary weapon, the Sidearm model loses the ability to adjust zeroing and is also less accurate regardless of firemode; it is ~ 23% less accurate when full auto is toggled (0.0029 rad)[CfgWp 11] and is ~ 12% less accurate when firing on semi-auto (0.00203 rad).[CfgWp 12] Its stock being folded also results in the Sidearm VZ.61 having greater recoil, making it slightly harder to control when firing on full auto.
Ironsights[]

Melee[]
Only VZ.61s that are classified as primary weapons allow the user to utilise a melee attack. It involves striking at targets with a buttstroke. Melee attacks can inflict a maximum of up to 7 points of damage should the buttstroke successfully connect with the target.[CfgAm 1]
It should be noted that melee attacks will drain 1.75 points of stamina[Formula 3] whenever a buttstroke is performed.[SCR 1]

Both variants of the VZ.61 are capable of loading two types of magazines.[CfgWp 19][CfgWp 20] They are interchangeable between the two platforms and share the same weight of 6[CfgMa 3] "mass" units:
20Rnd. VZ.61 SMG Mag[]

Standard 20-round curved magazine loaded with a mix of 7.65 mm ball and tracer ammunition.[CfgMa 4]
Every fourth round fired will emit a visible red tracer.[CfgMa 5] However, the last four rounds of the magazine will consist exclusively of visible tracer rounds.[CfgMa 6]
20Rnd. VZ.61 SMG Mag (Tracer)[]

Alternate curved magazine loaded entirely with visible tracer ammunition. All twenty rounds of the magazine will emit visible red tracers when fired.[CfgMa 7][CfgMa 8]

Trivia[]
- The stock on the primary version will automatically be folded when not in use.
- Both variants of the VZ.61 were not originally included as part of S.O.G.'s launch content. They were only added to the DLC after the release of Update 1.1.[1]

Notes[]
- ↑ The VZ.61's muzzle velocity is determined by the magazine's initSpeed value rather than the weapon itself (the weapon class initSpeed is set to a value of zero).
- ↑ Pressing the ZEROING UP/ZEROING DOWN keys will cause the rear sight to change appearance but this will not actually affect the Sidearm VZ.61's zeroing. This is because the discreteDistanceCameraPoint token on the Sidearm VZ.61 has two values defined in its array, which causes the weapon's model to change the appearance of its ironsights accordingly. However, because the weaponInfoType config token is not defined on the Sidearm version of the VZ.61, attempting to adjust zeroing will not actually do anything (the ironsight's appearance being changed is purely cosmetic).
- ↑ Damage will be reduced if the projectile's velocity drops below this value.
