« | The VZ54 is a Czech sniper rifle built from 1954 to 1957. Based on the M91/30 the VZ54 is chambered in 7.62x54R. It is lighter and shorter, with a half-length butt stock and pistol grip, and uses the same M91/30 action. The Czech-made 2.5x optic is positioned lower for better accuracy. Elite PAVN snipers were issued these rifles during the war. Field Manual

The VZ54 is a 7.62 mm sniper rifle used exclusively by the PAVN in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The VZ54 is a bolt-action sniper rifle that is chambered to fire the 7.62×54 mmR cartridge.
It loads from the same 5-round stripper clips shared with the M91/30. VZ54s have a muzzle velocity of 850 m/s and can attain a fire rate of approximately ~ 27 rounds per minute.
VZ54s can mount a dedicated optical sight with a fixed magnification of 2.5x. They can also be customised with a camouflage wrap around the barrel and stock. However, VZ54s cannot be fitted with a suppressor and do not allow for bayonets to be mounted.
Ironsights[]

Without a scope attached, the VZ54's ironsights can be manually zeroed starting from a minimum of 100 metres up to a maximum of 1,200 metres (100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500, 550, 600, 650, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1100, 1200). By default, it utilises a zeroing of 100 metres.
Melee[]
Melee attacks involve striking targets with a buttstroke. Buttstrokes inflict a maximum of 7 points of damage if it successfully connects with the target.
Note that melee attacks cost stamina and will drain up to 6.28 points whenever a buttstroke is performed.[note 1]
Ammunition[]
Base damage value | Aerodynamic friction | Initial velocity (m/s) | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
12 | -0.00096 | 808 | 19.392 |
VZ54s can load two types of "magazines". They share the same weight of 4 "mass" units and are fully interchangeable with the M38, M1891, and M91/30 family of weapons:
5Rnd. M38 Clip[]

Standard 5-roud stripper clip. Does not contain visible tracer rounds.
5Rnd. M38 Clip (Tracer)[]

Alternate "magazine" loaded entirely with visible tracer ammunition.
Trivia[]
- The VZ54 was not originally available as part of S.O.G.'s launch content. It was only added after the release of Update 1.2.[1]
- Its sling is purely cosmetic and does not bestow any positive handling effects upon the rifle.

Notes[]
- ↑ Stamina costs are calculated according to the following formula: (Weapon's "mass" * 0.04) * (Weapon's dexterity)
