The wz. 78 is a 26.5 mm flare gun used exclusively by Polish military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
The wz. 78 is a single-shot, break action 26.5 mm flare gun. It is simply the Polish military's designation for the West German-made P2A1 flare gun.
Aside from very minor cosmetic differences, the wz. 78 is an exact duplicate of its West German parent weapon. Both share the exact same characteristics, from handling, fire rate, muzzle velocity, and even the types of flare/smoke rounds that can be loaded.
Ironsights[]

The wz. 78 does not provide the user with a pair of ironsights. It cannot be manually zeroed.
Ammunition[]
NOTE: Although not explicitly designed to do so, the wz. 78 can share its 26.5 mm round types with the East German LP1 (and vice versa).
Composition | Duration (seconds) | Initial velocity (m/s) | No. of flares |
---|---|---|---|
Smoke | 60 | 180 | N/A |
Flare (Single) | 20 | 160 | 1 |
Flare (Multi) | 20 | 180 | 4 |
The wz. 78 can be loaded with twenty types of flare and smoke shells. All only contain a single round to fire, though they can disperse either individual or 4-star "clusters" depending on the variant loaded.
No matter the type, they all weigh an identical "mass" of 8 units each:
Flare[]
Signalling/illumination flare round. Available in either white (DM15), red (DM13), green (DM11) or yellow (DM10) colour varieties. Multi-star flare rounds are designated as DM25 (white), DM23 (red), DM21 (green) and DM20 (yellow).
There are also two other unique types of flare rounds; a parachute flare variant labelled as the DM16 (coloured exclusively in yellow) and an NBC hazard warning flare designated as the DM47.
Smoke[]
Concealment/marking smoke round. Available in either yellow (DM19), orange (DM22) or purple (DM24) colour varieties.
Trivia[]
- The wz. 78 was not originally available upon release and was only added after Update 1.1.[1]
