The ZLN-1K is a laser aiming device in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Design[]
The ZLN-1K is a laser sight that projects a beam towards wherever the user is aiming. Depending on user preference, it can either project a green laser beam that can be seen by the naked eye[CfgWp 3] or is only visible on the infrared spectrum, requiring the user to wear a set of night vision goggles in order to see it.[CfgWp 4]
Most weapons with a compatible Dovetail side mount[slotOptic 1] will allow for the ZLN-1K to be attached:
- AKM assault rifle* (7.62 mm)[CfgWp 5][CfgWp 6][CfgWp 7][CfgWp 8]
- AK-74N assault rifle (5.45 mm)[CfgWp 9]
- LMG K 500 assault rifle (7.62 mm)[CfgWp 10][CfgWp 11]
- LMG RPK/RPKN light support weapon** (7.62 mm)[CfgWp 12][CfgWp 12]
- LMG RPK-74/RPK-74N light support weapon (5.45 mm)[CfgWp 13][CfgWp 14]
- MPi AK-74 assault rifle (5.45 mm)[CfgWp 15][CfgWp 16][CfgWp 17]
- MPi KM-72 assault rifle*** (7.62 mm)[CfgWp 18][CfgWp 19][CfgWp 20][CfgWp 21]
- RPG-7 rocket launcher (40 mm)[CfgWp 22]
(*) Only available to the L and N variants.
(**) Exclusive to the LMG RPK and RPKN variants. The standalone RPK model is not capable of mounting the ZLN-1K.
(***) Not available to the MPi KM sub-variant.
Attaching the ZLN-1K onto the weapon will set its zeroing to 200 m (this cannot be manually adjusted).[CfgWp 23][CfgWp 24] Because the ZLN-1K is not actually considered to be an optic, the user will default to aiming with the weapon's ironsights.
It should be noted that mounting the ZLN-1K onto the weapon will increase its inertia penalty by +0.1.[CfgWp 25][CfgWp 26] Additionally, since the ZLN-1K occupies the weapon's optics slot, it is not possible to have it mounted at the same time with an optical scope. Unlike flashlights, the ZLN-1K is not attached to the weapon's handguard.
Camouflage[]
- Black: All-black finish with a brown-coloured bottom mount.
- Grey: Grey finish with a black cap and a brown-coloured bottom mount.
Trivia[]
- The ZLN-1K was not originally available as part of the DLC's launch content and was only added after Update 1.5.[1]
- Alongside the other laser sights included in Update 1.5, the ZLN-1K is unique for being the first laser pointer-type attachment that can project a beam visible to the naked eye (albeit only in a semi-official capacity).
